Leontodon taraxacoides Hoppe & Hornsch. 1821 is the valid senior homonym, but this is a different taxon to Leontodon taraxacoides (Vill.) Mérat which is based on Hyoseris taraxacoides Vill. Leontodon taraxacoides (Vill.) Mérat is therefore illeg. and gives way to Leontodon saxatilis.
