Pócs et al., Phytotaxa 202(1): 63–68 (2015) regarded the subgenus Siphonolejeunea subg. Austrolejeunea, hence the genus Austrolejeuenea and therefore all species named in the genus Austroleleuena R.M.Schust. as invalidly oublished. Renner & de Lange (2020) regard Siphonolejeunea subg. Austrolejeunea as validly published in 1963.
