taxonomic status
"Phoma species found in association with ... stone fruit trees in NZ were formerly identified as Phyllosticta circumscissa Cooke, originally described from apricot in South Australia. Later it was concluded these records refer to Phoma pomorum, ... see Pennycook (1989). Quite possibly [P. laundoniae] was often involved in earlier New Zealand records" [PRJ - note that authentic P. pomorum is common in NZ]
taxonomic status
Based on BTUB sequencs, P. laundoniae has an isolated position near the base of the Didymellaceae, close to Nothophoma, Xenodidymella etc sensu Chen et al. 2015
