This fungus was formerly a member of Paraconiothyrium sporulosum complex. It has been isolated from New Zealand before, but treated under a different name. Earlier collections were from Auckland in 2007 from Coprosma acerosa (NZFS 2988) and grapevine (ICMP 17485).
