typification
Type: N.Z., South Island, Westland, Cedar Creek, Sep. 14, 1978, J.K. Bartlett 23125. Holotype: ALTA. Not seen. Isotypes: AK 197347!, CHR 412477!
Etymology
The epithet honours the Danish bryologist Jette Lewinsky (1948–1998), who worked in N.Z. and published treatments of Australasian Orthotrichum and Zygodon.
editorial
Currently this is usually accepted either as Pseudoblindia lewinskyae (J.K.Bartlett & Vitt) Fedosov, M.Stech & Ignatov or Kiaeria lewinskyae (J.K.Bartlett & Vitt) Brinda, Ignatov & Fedosov (2023) . Allan Fife (May 2024) suggested accepting it in Pseudoblindia, however that is apparently an illegitimate name. He rejected placement in Kiaeria, hence it has been retained in Blinda. [April 2025]
