editorial
Renner (2018) said that Plagiochila deltoidea var. densa was described for plants with smaller median leaf cells and densely areolate leaves, but these characters are variable within the P. deltoidea complex, particularly leaf cell size. However the variety was recognised for the 2020 New Zealand Threatened Liverwort and Hornwort list. The autonym was therefore also recognised.
