The identity of the "Cox" to whom this taxon name is partially attributed is not clear. The paper reads "Chamberlain & Cox". IPNI gives "Cox" as the standard form for E.H.M. Cox (1893–1977), and given his interest in Rhododendrons, it seems reasonable that this is the person intended.
