Aspergillus neoniger, Aspergillus tubingensis, and Aspergillus pulverulentus all have a very similar BTUB sequence and cannot be distinguished by this gene. ICMP Isolates 17511, 21151, 1058, 10288, and 421 could be any of these species, these ICMP isolates were all formerly A. niger. However a non ICMP isolate was sequenced with the Cam gene (Genbank record KJ775300) and shown to be A. tubingensis. [BSW and PRJ; July 2019]
