editorial
Galloway (2007) cited the basionym for this as 'Calicium debile Turner & Borrer ex J.E. Smith & J. Sowerby, Engl. Bot. 35: tab. 2462 (1813)". In protologye, in the text facing plate 2462 in English Botany vol. 35, the heading reads: LICHEN debilis, weak Pin-headed lichen. and below a description in English is : "Syn. Calicium debile. Turn. and Borr. Mss. Coralloides fungiforme arboreum nigrum, vix crustosum. Dill. Musc. 78. t. 14. f. 3 A?" Index Fungorum gives Lichen debilis as the basionym, and does not cite the Turner and Borrer cmbination in Calicium. Index Fungorum furhter gives, as a homotypic synonym: Calicium debile (Sm.) Schaer., Naturw. Anzeiger Allgem. Schweizer. Gesellsch. Naturwiss. 5: 36 (1821). Mycobank gives Calicium debile Turner & Borrer, English Botany: tab. 2462 (1813) as the basionym.
