Tropicos (accessed May 2020) cites Pseudephemerum nitidum as Pseudephemerum nitidum (Hedw.) Loeske, Stud.Morph., Laubm. 75 (1910) [ie in Loesek's Studien zur Vergleichenden Morphologie und Phylogenetischen Systematik der Laubmoose] However, previously this has been cited as Pseudephemerum nitidum (Hedw.) Reimers, Verh. Bot. Ver. Prov. Brandenb. 74: 152 (1933). The publication Studien zur Vergleichenden Morphologie und Phylogenetischen Systematik der Laubmoose] is difficult to find, and the first two usages of "nitidum" on p. 75, to not appear to be part of a valid combination in Pseudephemerum, but there is a 3rd usage that couldn't be seen online.
