Pileus submembranaceous, convex, then almost plane, slightly gibbous or broadly umbonate, even, glabrous, tawny when moist, ochraceous when dry, or sometimes whitish, slightly striate at the margin when old, 1.5-2.5 cm. broad; gills adnate, triangular-oblong, crowded, margin minutely dentate, somewhat tawny or honey-colour; spores elliptical, 10-12 x 4-5 µ; stem 3-4 cm. long, 2-3 mm thick, equal, or slightly thinner upwards, coloured like the pileus, base paler, sprinkled with white meal at the apex, rather firm, hollow.

Gills very variable, sometimes adnexed, at others broadly adnate, honey-colour or cinnamon, retaining their colour after the pileus has become dry and ochraceous or whitish.
