Apparently this name has never been validly published (certainly not in the cited reference, which is the protologue of S. oxysporum), but is probably the result of a transcriptional error combining the genus of S. oxysporum with the epithet of the synonymous Placosphaeria graminis [cf. Sutton 1980, p. 610].
