synonymy with Physalospora fusca from F. Weiss, Index of Plant Diseases in the United States, Part 1. 15 July 1950. Issued by Division of Mycology and Disease Survey, Plant Industry Station, Beltsville. Based on this synonymy, Pennycook (Fungi of NZ Volume 1, 2004) listed Physalospora abdita from New Zealand, based on specimens incorrectly identified as Botryosphaeria fusca.
