Lobaria rubella was implicitly synonymised with Crocodia rubella in by Galloway & Elix (2013). They stated that "for additional synonymy, see Galloway & James (1980)" and other papers. As Lobaria rubella is listed as a synomym of Pseudocyphellaria in Galloway and James (1980), it can therefore be regarded as a sysnonym of Crocodia rubella.
