Although not explicitly stated that this taxon is in New Zealand, the implication is that it is present, as, under the heading Leucadendron microcephalum hybrid, it was stated although the hybrid was "usually sold in New Zealand as L. microcephalum or L. stokoei..the plants available here are in fact hybrids between L. microcephalum and L. laureolum" and that the hybrid was "raised during the early 1960s by Ian Bell of Stevens Brothers in Wanganui".
