Bazzania accreta is not included, because the sole specimen on which Meagher (2006, 2008) based its presence in New Zealand (G.A.M. Scott 8212 Stewart Island, OTA) does not have the diagnostic feature of that species (Meagher 2019): underleaves that are longer than wide. This specimen is B. okaritana.
