This name was applied to some Antarctic specimens collect in 1989. Current international databases (Accessed 20/12/2024) differ in what they regard as the current name for Lepraria angardiana Øvstedal: Index Fungorum and GBIF give Lepraria cacuminum (A.Massal.) Kümmerl. & Leuckert. (1995) whereas Mycobank gives Lepraria alpina (B.de Lesd.) Tretiach & Baruffo (2006).
