Descriptions
Rhizome short, erect, bearing redbrown subulate scales up to 10 × 0.5 mm with long hair-like apices (Fig. 2). Stipes 1-16 cm long, c. 1 mm diam., stiff, shiny, dark red-brown, bearing scales which are similar to those of the rhizome near the base, but more scattered, highly reduced and hair-like above. Laminae triangular to broadly triangular, 3-10 × 2.5-6 cm, shiny dark green on upper surface, lighter on under surface, slightly fleshy, erect, pinnate at apex, pinnate to bipinnate at base (Fig. 1). Rachises c. 1 mm diam., shiny, dark red-brown, almost devoid of scales. 1ry pinnae in 1-5 ± opposite pairs plus a large apical lobe; pauperthe upper ones elliptic, broadly ovate or occasionally broader than long, undivided; the lower ones on small fronds broadly ovate or as broad as long, undivided, those on larger fronds broadly triangular, lobed or divided into 2ry pinnae; 1ry pinnae rounded at apices, crenate to ± entire, with stalks up to 2 mm long, almost devoid of scales, glabrous; lower pinnae of large fronds either tri-lobed with the apical lobe largest, or with a single pair of shortly stalked 2ry pinnae and a larger apical lobe. Sori conspicuous, curving away from midrib along the veins, 4-12 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, margins of indusia ± entire. Sporangia with 64 spores. Spores (42)49-54(59) × (28)34-38(43) mcm (4 populations); perispores with reticulate, flattened projections (Fig. 3).
Rhizoma breve, erectum, paleis subulatis rufescentibus usque ad 10 × 0.5 mm cum apicibus longis filiformibus. Stipes 1-16 cm longus, c. 1 mm diametro, rigidus, nitidus, rufescens, paleis basi subulatis apice filiformibus distantibusque. Lamina triangularis vel late triangularis, 3- 10 × 2.5-6 cm, paginis superioribus atroviridibus inferiqribus subviridibus, carnosa, erecta, apice pinnata, basi pinnata vel bipinnata. Rhachis c. 1 mm diametro, nitida, rufescens, fere sine paleis. Pinnae primariae 1-5-jugatae, cum lobo apicali magno, oppositae; superiores ellipticae, late ovatae vel interdum latiores quam longiores, integrae; inferiores frondium parviorum late ovatae vel pariter longiores quam latiores, integrae, frondium grandium late triangulares, lobatae vel in pinnas secundarias divisae; pinnae primariae apicibus rotundatis, crenatae vel ± integrae, petiolis usque ad 2 mm longos, fere sine paleis, glabrae; pinnae inferiores frondium grandium trilobatae lobo apicali maximo, vel pinnis secundariis 1-jugatis brevi-petiolatis cum lobo apicali majore. Sori conspicui, elongati secus venas, curvati e costa, 4—12 mm longi, c. 1 mm lati, marginibus indusiorum ± integris. Sporangia 64 sporae capientia. Sporae (42)49-54(59) × (28)34- 38(43) mcm; perisporae projecturis complanatis reticulatis.
